Huafa Qianhai Ice & Snow World is located in Shajing Subdistrict, Bao'an District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, next to Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. The project covers a total land area of approximately 436,800 square meters, with a total construction area of around 1,310,700 square meters. The core ice and snow venue has a construction area of about 100,000 square meters. Certified by Guinness World Records, it is the world's largest indoor ski resort and also the large-scale indoor ice and snow venue at the lowest latitude globally. The cold zone of the venue maintains a constant temperature of minus 6 degrees Celsius all year round. The cold zone spans 56,000 square meters, including 52,000 square meters of ski runs and 4,000 square meters of snow recreation area, alongside a supporting warm zone of 24,000 square meters. The venue features 5 professional ski runs with a total length of 1,569 meters. The longest single run measures 463 meters, with a maximum vertical drop of 83 meters and a maximum gradient of 18 degrees. Among them, the intermediate and advanced runs have obtained FIS (International Ski Federation) track certification and can host international skiing competitions. Integrating professional skiing, immersive snow recreation experience, commercial leisure, hotels and offices, the building adopts a blue whale appearance design and serves as an ice and snow cultural tourism landmark in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
History and Culture
The Huafa Qianhai Ice & Snow World project was included on the list of major projects of Shenzhen for 2021 and 2022. The construction was promoted by other enterprises in the early stage. In January 2023, Huafa Co., Ltd. completed the equity acquisition of the project and fully took over its development and construction. The total investment of the project exceeds 29.6 billion RMB, and the venue design is undertaken by international design firm 10Design.
On August 28, 2025, the project held a brand launch conference, releasing the ticket pricing system and opening plan. On September 29, 2025, Huafa Qianhai Ice & Snow World officially opened. At the opening ceremony, it was awarded the Guinness World Record for the largest indoor ski centre. The venue has also been designated as the Guangdong Ski Training Base, Training Base for Hong Kong China Ski Team and Shenzhen Ice and Snow Tourism Research & Study Base. It undertakes functions including popularizing ice and snow sports, training professional teams and hosting ice and snow events, boosting the development of ice and snow sports in the Greater Bay Area.
Main Attractions
Professional Ski Run Zone
The Professional Ski Run Zone contains 5 graded ski runs catering for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers. It is equipped with 2 cableways and multiple double magic carpets, with an hourly passenger capacity of 3,200 visitors. The beginner run has gentle slopes suitable for new skiers to practice. The intermediate and advanced runs are certified by FIS to meet the training and competition demands of professional athletes. Two terrain parks are built within the site for skiers to practise freestyle skills. The resort adopts the sixth-generation distributed snowmaking technology, keeping the water content of snow around 8% and maintaining stable snow quality all year round.
Ice and Snow Recreation Park
The Ice and Snow Recreation Park covers an area of 4,000 square meters and features 14 ice and snow entertainment items, ideal for family trips. The park includes polar exploration snow tubing runs, high-speed swirling snow tubing runs, ice bumper cars and an ice carousel. Supporting facilities such as snowfall zones, dream snow houses and ice sculpture galleries are available for sightseeing and photo-taking. Visitors who do not ski can experience snow activities here and immerse themselves in the icy environment.
Supporting Commercial Complex
The Supporting Commercial Complex covers about 50,000 square meters and belongs to the warm zone of the ice and snow project. Connected to the entrances and exits of the ski resort, it houses catering, retail and leisure stores. Visitors can rest and dine before or after skiing, serving as the supporting leisure area of the ice and snow world.

Travel Tips
- The recommended visiting time is 3 to 5 hours. Reserve sufficient time for gear changing and activity experience.
- Beginners are advised to use beginner ski runs. Ski instructors can be booked, and free public ski courses are held regularly at the resort.
- Ski tickets and snow recreation tickets are two separate types of tickets. Snow recreation tickets do not grant access to ski runs. Confirm activities before purchasing tickets.
- It is recommended to bring waterproof gloves, face protectors and thick long socks. Protective gear can be rented on-site at relatively high prices.
- Bring a waterproof phone pouch when taking photos to prevent damage caused by low temperature and moisture.
- Crowds are heavy during holidays. Purchase tickets online in advance to reduce queuing time on site.
- Sports accident insurance can be bought before visiting to reduce risks from skiing injuries.
Notes
- The scenic spot adopts real-name admission. All visitors must present original valid documents such as ID card, passport or Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao residents. Admission is only allowed when the identity matches the document, and entry is denied without original documents.
- The temperature in the cold zone of the resort is about minus 6 degrees Celsius. Keep warm. Children and the elderly should shorten continuous stay in the cold zone.
- Ski runs are managed by grading. Visitors holding only beginner tickets cannot enter intermediate or advanced runs. Staff will dissuade unauthorized entry.
- Skiing carries fall risks. Abide by resort rules while skiing, watch out for warning signs and avoid skiing against the traffic direction.
- Lockers can be used by scanning QR codes with a deposit required. The deposit will be refunded after returning the locker upon departure.
- Sharp objects and glassware are prohibited in the cold zone to prevent scratches on snow surfaces or personal injury.
- Admission stops at 20:00 and the venue closes at 22:00. Reserve time to return equipment.
- People suffering from heart disease, hypertension, asthma and other illnesses are not recommended to take part in skiing activities in the resort.
Transportation
- Metro: Take Line 20 to Huizhancheng Station, Exit B/C, about 10 minutes on foot; Take Line 12 to Haishang Tianyuan South Station, Exit C, about 8 minutes on foot.
- Self-driving: Navigate to Huafa Ice & Snow Hot Snow Miracle. The scenic spot has supporting parking lots for private cars.
- Taxi: Set destination as Huafa Qianhai Ice & Snow World for direct arrival at the venue entrance.
- Highway: Visitors from other cities can take Yanjiang Expressway to reach the area.
Opening Hours
Huafa Qianhai Ice & Snow World operates all year round. Regular opening hours are 10:00 to 22:00 daily, with admission closing at 20:00. Opening hours may be temporarily adjusted during special holidays and equipment maintenance. Check official announcements before travel for confirmation.
