History and Culture

The Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum project was officially laid in December 2019. It is constructed by Shenzhen Municipal Government Engineering Construction Administration Bureau and operated by the Shenzhen Association for Science and Technology. Located in the core area of Guangming Science City and adjacent to Science Park, it is positioned as a world-class science exploration center for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Centered on the main line of digital civilization, the project integrates local industrial innovation achievements of Shenzhen into the exhibition, highlights the characteristics of Shenzhen's high-tech industries, and creates an immersive popular science venue different from traditional science museums.

Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum officially opened to the public on May 1, 2025, becoming a landmark cultural and popular science building in Guangming Science City. On August 9 of the same year, the Planetarium, namely the dome cinema, officially opened to enrich astronomical popular science experiences. Since its completion, the venue has continuously carried out popular science activities, science shows and research study courses. It undertakes the functions of public science popularization, technology exchange and innovation cultivation, and serves as an important popular science education base in the Greater Bay Area.
