Dameisha Coastal Park is located in Dameisha Area, Meisha Sub‑district, Yantian District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. Built against the coast of Mirs Bay, the park covers a total area of approximately 1.68 million square meters, of which the beach water area is around 1.3 million square meters and the land area is about 380,000 square meters. The park boasts the well‑known golden coastal beach in Shenzhen, with a total beach length of about 1.8 kilometres and an average width of roughly 50 metres. Centered on coastal leisure and vacation, it integrates a beach bathing area, coastal walkways, water‑related recreation and ecological green spaces. It is equipped with tourist service centres, public restrooms, changing rooms, shower rooms and other basic facilities, and is a popular free coastal park in eastern Shenzhen.

History and Culture

The Meisha region where Dameisha is situated has been a coastal fishing village in southeast Guangdong since ancient times. Local residents made a living from offshore fishing. The place‑names Dameisha and Xiaomeisha derive from the local sandy bay landforms.

Dameisha Coastal Park was officially completed and opened to the public in 1999. It quickly grew into a famous coastal leisure spot for Shenzhen citizens and tourists. Due to sustained huge visitor flow, multiple renovation projects have been carried out for facility upgrade and beach ecological protection. Starting from 2018, the scenic area rolled out the online real‑name reservation system to control passenger volume and secure tourist safety.

  • Pets, glass containers, flammable‑explosive articles and large tents are prohibited inside the park. Rules of the scenic area shall be followed for small sun‑shade tents.
  • Sunlight by the sea is strong, so proper sun protection is needed. Rinse off seawater after sea bathing to prevent skin discomfort.
  • Do not litter. Please use trash bins provided on the beach to protect coastal ecology.
  • Keep an eye on your personal belongings as visitor density is high on the beach to avoid property loss. Minors must be accompanied by adults the whole time when entering seawater.
  • The scenic spot may close temporarily upon typhoon, heavy rain or other bad weather. Check official announcements before departure.
