Ma Ren Qi Feng Scenic Area is located in Suncun Town, Fanchang District, Wuhu City, Anhui Province. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction, a national forest park, a national geopark, and a national agricultural tourism demonstration site. The core area of the scenic spot covers 3.3 square kilometers, with a maximum altitude of 316 meters. It is a famous scenic spot for natural landscape and internet-famous experiential tourism in southern Anhui and along the Anhui River. Featuring "grotesque mountains, strange rocks, fantastic caves, ancient temples, unique forests and towering peaks", the scenic area integrates natural landscapes, forest ecology, cultural ancient architecture and high-altitude internet-famous experience projects. It boasts a combined glass plank road with the highest vertical height and longest length in East China. The forest coverage rate exceeds 95%, with abundant negative oxygen ions, earning it the reputation of "Zhangjiajie of southern Anhui and a small Huangshan by the riverside".
History and Culture
Ma Ren Qi Feng has a profound historical heritage. As early as the Three Kingdoms period, it became a resort for literati and poets. The name of the scenic spot originates from local folk legends and historical allusions, as the rolling mountains resemble galloping horses. Since the Tang Dynasty, it has been an important site for religious culture in southern Anhui. Ma Ren Ancient Temple was first built in the Tang Dynasty and has been renovated and expanded many times in the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, making it one of the well-preserved ancient Buddhist temples in southern Anhui.
During the Ming and Qing dynasties, Ma Ren Qi Feng enjoyed a flourishing literary atmosphere. Numerous scholars and refined scholars lived in seclusion here, composing poems and inscribing stone carvings, leaving behind a large number of poems and cliff inscriptions that have become important cultural heritages of the scenic spot. The scenic area is covered with towering ancient trees, including many century-old famous trees. The natural ecology and historical culture blend together, forming a unique landscape culture of southern Anhui.
In modern times, Ma Ren Qi Feng has been gradually developed and constructed based on its ecological resources and cultural heritage. It was officially opened to the public after 2000. After years of development, it has become a comprehensive tourist attraction integrating cultural experience, ecological sightseeing, leisure vacation and internet-famous recreation, serving as a key tourist landmark of Wuhu City.
Main Attractions
Ma Ren Ancient Temple
Ma Ren Ancient Temple is located in the core area of the scenic spot. Founded in the Tang Dynasty, it has a history of more than one thousand years. Built against the mountain, the temple is simple and elegant, including the Mahavira Hall, the Heavenly King Hall, the Guanyin Hall and other buildings. It enjoys prosperous incense, is a famous Buddhist holy land in southern Anhui, and serves as the core carrier of the scenic spot's history and culture.
Cliff Ladder Glass Plank Road
The Cliff Ladder Glass Plank Road is built on the steep cliffs of Ma Ren Qi Feng, with a vertical height of 180 meters and a total length of 200 meters. Paved with fully transparent glass, the plank road hangs on the mountain rock face, offering thrilling experiences. It is a representative high-altitude cliff glass plank road in East China and a must-experience core project for tourists.
Flying Dragon Glass Bridge
The Flying Dragon Glass Bridge spans between two peaks of Ma Ren Qi Feng, with a total length of 388 meters and a vertical height of 180 meters. The bridge deck is made of fully transparent tempered glass, and the bridge body is equipped with lighting effects, combining high-altitude viewing and thrilling experiences. It is the first internet-famous high-altitude glass bridge in China that has passed the safety inspection of the National Testing Center.
Phoebe Nanmu Forest
The Phoebe Nanmu Forest is the largest original phoebe nanmu forest community in East China, covering an area of over 100 mu. The forest is home to many century-old phoebe nanmu trees, evergreen all year round, with fresh air and extremely high negative oxygen ion concentration. It is a natural forest oxygen bar and the core area for ecological sightseeing in the scenic spot.
Ma Ren Stone Forest
Ma Ren Stone Forest was formed by hundreds of millions of years of geological movements, with jagged and varied strange rocks. Stone peaks, stone pillars and stone buds are scattered everywhere with peculiar shapes, known as "the No.1 Stone Forest in southern Anhui". It is the core landscape area of the national geopark.
Sun Mountain
Sun Mountain is the main peak of Ma Ren Qi Feng, with an altitude of 316 meters. The top of the mountain has a wide view, overlooking the entire scenic spot and the hilly scenery of southern Anhui. The mountain trails are gentle, with strange rocks, ancient trees and viewing platforms scattered along the way, making it an excellent place for mountain climbing, sightseeing and leisure hiking.
No.1 Fortune Tripod Under Heaven
The No.1 Fortune Tripod Under Heaven is located in the scenic square, with a height of 9.9 meters and a weight of 99 tons. Cast entirely in bronze, the tripod is carved with fortune characters and auspicious patterns, symbolizing praying for good fortune and auspiciousness. It is one of the landmark buildings of the scenic spot and a popular spot for tourists to take photos and pray for blessings.

Notes
- High-heeled shoes are prohibited on the glass plank road and glass bridge; chasing, frolicking, jumping and shaking are not allowed.
- Some sections of the mountain hiking trail are steep; the elderly and children must be accompanied by family members at all times.
- Flammable and explosive materials are prohibited in the scenic spot; outdoor smoking and open flames are forbidden.
- High-altitude projects will be temporarily closed in severe weather such as thunderstorms and strong winds; please check the weather before traveling.
- Climbing on rocks and trees in the scenic spot and entering undeveloped areas are prohibited.
- Sharp objects are prohibited on the glass bridge project; follow the instructions of on-site staff.

Transportation
- Self-driving: Navigate to "Ma Ren Qi Feng Scenic Area". From Hefei, Nanjing and Wuhu, take the Shanghai-Chongqing Expressway to Fanchang Toll Station, then go along Provincial Highway 216 directly to the scenic spot, which is equipped with a large free parking lot.
- Public transport: Take the Fanchang bus line from Wuhu urban area to Fanchang Passenger Station, then transfer to the Ma Ren Qi Feng tourist special line to the scenic gate.
- High-speed rail: Take the high-speed rail to Fanchang West Railway Station, then take a taxi for about 20 minutes to the scenic spot, with a journey of about 15 kilometers.
Opening Hours
Daily opening hours are from 8:00 to 17:00, with entry stopping at 16:30. During holidays and peak tourist seasons, opening hours are adjusted to 7:30 to 17:30, with entry stopping at 17:00. The operating hours of high-altitude experience projects are consistent with the scenic opening hours and will be temporarily adjusted in special weather conditions.
