Kuitun Jinxiuyuan Scenic Area is located in Kuitun City, Ili Kazak Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is a national 4A-level scenic area. The total area of the scenic area is nearly 1,000 mu, and the green space rate reaches 65.72%. It is a large comprehensive scenic area integrating culture, education, entertainment and leisure, composed of "six gardens and one lake", namely Lin Zexu Theme Garden, Chinese Traditional Culture Garden, Amusement Park, Ethnic Customs Garden, Botanical Garden, Zoo and Bibo Lake.
History and Culture
In the winter of 1842, Lin Zexu was exiled to Yili and passed through Kuitun and stayed overnight here. On that night, he recorded the name Kuitun in his diary in the form of text in Chinese history. To commemorate this national hero, in 1991, the People's Government of Kuitun City built a statue of Lin Zexu, and then gradually built the Lin Zexu Theme Garden, which has become a patriotic education base in Kuitun City. The name of Lianhua Temple originates from the Buddhist "Lotus Sutra of the Wonderful Law". It was completed in August 2015 and has become an important Buddhist cultural display area in the scenic area. In addition, the Nine-Dragon Wall in the scenic area was built in 1993, modeled after the Nine-Dragon Wall in the Forbidden City in Beijing, and has high artistic value and cultural significance.
Main Attractions
Lin Zexu Theme Garden
It covers an area of 4.4 mu and is composed of the statue of Lin Zexu, Lingong Pavilion (Lin Zexu Memorial Hall), Yubei Pavilion, Xuemin Pavilion and other buildings. On the south side of the theme garden, there are fourteen buildings imitating the architecture of the Ming and Qing dynasties, mainly operating antiques, calligraphy and paintings, the four treasures of the study and other handicrafts and tourist souvenirs.
Lianhua Temple
With the Lotus Island in the scenic area as the core, attractions such as the memorial archway, mountain gate, bell and drum towers are arranged in sequence from south to north along the central axis, with a total building area of 18,072 square meters. There is a 16.3-meter-high indoor Guanyin statue in the temple, as well as a Buddhist spring that does not freeze in winter. In the southeast corner stands a nine-story Jiguang Pagoda with an octagonal shape and a height of 58.95 meters.
Bibo Lake
The total water area is 150.8 mu, which is an artificial lake. On the north bank, there is a two-story antique waterside pavilion, Guanlan Pavilion. There are various water entertainment facilities in the lake. On the east side of the path along the lake, stone carvings of the Twenty-four Filial Piety stories in ancient times are placed. On the east bank of the lake, there is a screen wall imitating the Nine-Dragon Wall in the Forbidden City, with a length of 33 meters and a height of 6 meters.
Ethnic Customs Garden
Located in the northwest of the scenic area, it has rich characteristic culture and folk customs of the Kazakh ethnic group. Kazakh yurts are scattered in the sparse forest and grassland, and there are tapestries and murals embroidered by Kazakh women inside.
Botanical Garden
It covers an area of 618.5 mu and is divided into 12 areas, with more than 200 kinds of plants, 14,977 trees and shrubs planted, and more than 230,000 flower plants. Among them, the flowers of Tianshan Mountain and Altai Mountain and the special plants of Siberia that have been successfully cultivated and planted artificially are particularly precious, and it is a science popularization education base in Kuitun City.
Zoo
It covers an area of more than 10 mu. In the shady area of the park, tourists can have a close view of dozens of kinds of animals such as the Siberian tiger, African lion, brown bear, sika deer, ostrich and peacock.
Amusement Park
Located on the west side of the scenic area, it covers a total area of 60 mu and has more than 40 amusement projects, such as the thrilling pirate ship and the exciting pendulum hammer.
Delicacies
There are some snack stalls in the scenic area, offering delicacies such as grilled skewers, cold noodles and naan. There are rich delicacies around, including Xinjiang specialties such as hand-pulled rice, big plate chicken and roasted whole lamb. The hand-pulled rice is shiny and delicious; the big plate chicken has tender chicken and soft potatoes, and it is very enjoyable with belt noodles; the roasted whole lamb has a golden and crispy skin and tender and juicy meat.

Opening Hours
The scenic area is open all day, and some of the amusement projects in the park will be closed one after another before 10 pm.
Tour Routes
Enter the scenic area from the south gate, and you can visit Lin Zexu Theme Garden, Xiehe Square, Chinese Traditional Culture Garden, Amusement Park, Ethnic Customs Garden, Botanical Garden, Zoo, Bibo Lake and Lianhua Temple in sequence, and finally exit the scenic area from the north gate. Or enter from the north gate and tour in the opposite direction. If you have enough time, you can slow down and enjoy each attraction carefully; if you are short of time, you can focus on core attractions such as Lin Zexu Theme Garden, Lianhua Temple and Bibo Lake.
Transportation
- By Bus: Take Bus No. 10 and get off at Xizhuanchang Station, then you will arrive at the north gate of the park.
- By Self-driving: Lianhuo Expressway → Kuitun West Overpass → Kui'a Expressway → G217 → Urumqi West Road, Beijing West Road.
- Others: You can go there by shared electric bike, or choose to take a taxi.
