
Shuangfengshan Tourist Scenic Area is located in Luquan District, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, in the western part of the provincial capital Shijiazhuang's urban area. Founded in 1974, the scenic area covers an area of 210,000 square meters. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction, a patriotic education base in Hebei Province, a national defense education base in Hebei Province, a provincial-level martyrs memorial facility protection unit, and a Chinese Party History Education Base.
The scenic area consists of six major parts: the Martyrs Memorial Area, the Social Memorial Area, the Mountain Landscape Area, the Water System Landscape Area, the Parking Lot Area, and the Office Area. The vegetation coverage rate here reaches 95%, with evergreen plants all year round. The water of Shuangfeng Lake is clear and charming, the water fountains are splendid and magnificent, the north and south mountains are lush and towering, the memorial buildings are firmly embedded, and the pavilions and buildings are scattered in an orderly manner. This forms an elegant environment where natural and cultural landscapes, traditional and modern cultures coexist harmoniously and organically.
History and Culture
Shijiazhuang Shuangfengshan Scenic Area has a long history and profound cultural heritage. According to the records of Huailu County Chronicle, it is said that during the Hongjia period of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, two phoenixes flew here, hence the name.
The Hebei Provincial Martyrs Memorial Park in the scenic area was founded in 1974. After more than 40 years of development and construction, it has become a large comprehensive memorial park in Hebei Province with an early construction, large scale, beautiful environment, complete functions, high quality, and complete memorial facilities. Nearly 30,000 remains and ashes of people from all walks of life are buried here, including more than 100 provincial and military-level cadres, more than 1,100 prefecture-level cadres, more than 100 old comrades who worked before the Anti-Japanese War, more than 100 model workers at or above the prefecture level, and more than 300 experts and intellectuals with senior professional and technical titles.
Many revolutionary pioneers rest here, such as Tian Han and An E, the lyricists of the national anthem of the People's Republic of China; Wang Kexin, a close comrade-in-arms of martyr Yang Jingyu and one of the founders of the Communist Party of China organization in Henan; Tao Xijin, the first secretary of the Shijiazhuang Municipal Party Committee, and his wife Zhu Lian; Sha Fei, the first person in Chinese revolutionary photography; and Wang Zhao and Fu Chongbi, commanders of the campaign to liberate Shijiazhuang. Their deeds and spirits are inherited and carried forward here.

Hebei Provincial Martyrs Memorial Hall
It is a provincial comprehensive memorial hall approved by the Civil Affairs Department of Hebei Province and the Cultural Relics Bureau of Hebei Province. The hall displays in detail the revolutionary history and heroic figures of Hebei since the 1911 Revolution in the form of pictures, texts, and cultural relics. It currently houses more than 2,800 photos of various revolutionary historical materials, more than 300 revolutionary historical books, more than 570 revolutionary historical relics, and more than 100,000 words of precious manuscripts by heroic figures.
National Anthem Square
It is the second National Anthem Memorial Square in the country and the only one in northern China, covering an area of 6,560 square meters. The granite-structured National Anthem Memorial Wall is its essence and main body. The wall is 50 meters long and 3 meters high. It uses deep and shallow reliefs and semi-circular carvings to reproduce the birth process of the national anthem and the course of inspiring the Chinese nation to save the nation from subjugation and rise up to fight.
"The Republic Will Not Forget" Monument
It is one of the important memorial buildings in the scenic area. It carries the memory and commemoration of revolutionary martyrs, constantly reminding people to remember history and cherish the current peaceful life. Its design is solemn and contains profound red revolutionary culture.
Sha Fei Memorial Hall
The hall houses the Leica camera donated by Bethune to Sha Fei, the wheels, saddles used by the Jin-Cha-Ji Pictorial Agency during the Anti-Japanese War, the film case for storing camera negatives, and the seals used by Sha Fei. These vividly show Sha Fei's outstanding contributions in the field of revolutionary photography.
Huang Qi Art Gallery
The gallery collects and displays many works of art by Mr. Huang Qi. Mr. Huang Qi has profound attainments in the fields of calligraphy and painting. His works embody a unique artistic style and profound cultural connotation, providing visitors with a feast of art.
Shuangfeng Lake
The lake water is clear and sparkling, setting off against the surrounding mountains and green trees, forming a beautiful natural picture. There are viewing platforms and leisure trails by the lake, where visitors can enjoy the lake and mountain scenery and feel the tranquility and beauty of nature.

Shimen Gorge Grilled Fish
It is made of fresh local fish through unique marinating and grilling techniques. The fish skin is golden and crispy, the fish meat is tender and juicy, and with various spices and vegetables, it is fragrant and delicious.
Shuangfengshan Wild Mushrooms
Various wild mushrooms grow in the mountains around the scenic area, such as shiitake mushrooms, black fungus, hazel mushrooms, etc. These wild mushrooms are rich in nutrition and delicious in taste. They can be used for stir-frying dishes and making soups, with a strong mountain flavor.
Shuangfengshan Red Dates
The red dates here are large and plump, with a ruddy color and sweet taste. They are rich in various vitamins and minerals. They can be eaten directly, or used for making porridge, stewing soup, and making tea, with high nutritional value.
