Dongfengyun Scenic Area is located at Changtangzi, Grape Sightseeing Avenue, Xinshao Town, Mile City, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. As a national 4A-level tourist attraction, it covers a total planned area of 3.69 square kilometers, with a core area of 1.6 square kilometers. Founded in 2014, the scenic area integrates diverse industries such as eco-agriculture, art culture, and leisure health preservation, bringing together rich landscapes like lavender manors, wine manors, and artist manors. It is renowned for its unique architecture and beautiful natural scenery. Most of the buildings use local red bricks, designed by Mile-born artist Luo Xu, incorporating elements such as wine culture and the fire culture of the Axi people, a branch of the Yi ethnic group, with peculiar shapes full of artistic sense.
Historical Culture
The predecessor of Dongfengyun Art Town was the Mile Dongfeng Farm, established in 1958. In 2011, Dongfeng Farm implemented a territorial management reform and was assigned to the People's Government of Mile County. Later, in 2014, the scenic area began construction and gradually developed into a current tourist destination integrating art, culture, and leisure. The State Farms Museum vividly recreates the transformation process of Dongfeng Farm from a labor reform farm to an art town through old photos, farm tools, and other exhibits. The scenic area also regularly hosts various cultural activities such as art exhibitions, music festivals, and photography exhibitions, fully demonstrating the local historical and cultural heritage and artistic achievements.
Main Attractions
Kaleidoscope Art Museum
This is the most popular internet-famous photo spot in the scenic area. The architecture integrates wine culture and Yi fire culture, presenting the shape of wine bottles and flame-like castles, all built with red bricks without using a single steel bar or nail. The spiral structure inside and the exhibition area of thousand-people chorus terracotta figurines are highly visually striking. The light and shadow in the museum change with the seasons, and the light is best around 3 pm, when sunlight filters through the brick cracks to form a unique labyrinth-like light and shadow on the ground. It is known as the "Magical Castle of Magic Futurism" and the "Fairy Tale Castle Closest to Your Heart."
Lavender Theme Park (Colorful Flower Field)
It plants more than 10 kinds of flowers such as lavender, swallowtail grass, campanula, and crown daisy. From April to October every year, large areas of lavender bloom, setting off against Dutch-style windmills, making people feel like they are in Europe, enjoying the reputation of "Provence in Central Yunnan." There is an observation deck in the middle of the flower field, offering a panoramic view of the entire sea of flowers.
Half Cloud
Continuing the architectural style of the Kaleidoscope Art Museum, it is named for its shape resembling "half a cloud in the sky." The layered outer walls are like continuous clouds, and the interior is equipped with a zen tea break space, making it a popular place for tourists to rest and take photos.
Niuduoluo Music Farm
It is covered with various music sculptures and note paths, and even the waterwheel seems to have its own background music, full of a strong artistic atmosphere, deeply loved by tourists.

Local free-range chicken is selected, specially marinated and cooked to be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with an excellent taste. The fresh fish soup is boiled with local fresh fish, and the soup is rich and delicious, making people linger.
Yunnan Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles
A traditional famous dish in Yunnan with a history of more than 100 years. It consists of soup (covered with boiling oil), seasonings (such as chili oil and monosodium glutamate), main ingredients (such as raw meat slices and soaked squid slices), auxiliary materials (such as pea tips and chives), and staple food (slightly blanched rice noodles). The soup is covered with goose oil, and the soup is boiling without steam.
Mile Braised Chicken
A local traditional famous dish with tender meat, delicious taste, and rich aroma. Mile small rice noodles are smooth, fresh, and delicious, a popular snack.
Mile Sour Soup Fish
It is paired with fish using Mile's unique pickled cabbage, sour and fragrant, appetizing.
Mile Braised Tofu

Admission
The ticket price is 60 yuan per person. Students can enjoy a half-price discount. The sightseeing car in the scenic area is 20 yuan per person (available for purchase as needed). Subject to the actual price of the scenic area.

Route 1: In the morning, start from the scenic area entrance and first go to the Kaleidoscope Art Museum to take photos and experience the charm of unique architecture and light and shadow changes; then go to the Seal House to admire the red brick buildings engraved with Yunnan dialect and take overhead photos of the scenic area's beautiful scenery at the internet-famous stairs. In the afternoon, stroll through the lavender flower fields to enjoy the sea of flowers; then go to the Half Cloud Artist Reception Hall, order a cup of coffee, experience the cave-style restaurant, and take high-end photos. Route 2: After arriving at the scenic area in the morning, take a sightseeing car to the pastoral scenery area (agricultural sightseeing area) to experience the fun of picking; then go to the State Farms Exhibition Hall to learn about the scenic area's historical changes. In the afternoon, go to the International Art Center to visit exhibitions and participate in activities such as ceramic experiences; then go to the Niuduoluo Music Farm to feel the musical art atmosphere. In the evening, taste local delicacies such as braised chicken rice noodles at the Dongfengyun Canteen, and after dinner, take a walk in the scenic area to enjoy the night view.

- High-speed rail: After arriving at "Mile Station," take a taxi for about 10 minutes (about 15 yuan) to reach the scenic area.
- Self-driving: About 1.5 hours' drive from Kunming, navigate to "Dongfengyun Town."
- Bus: You can take a bus to the scenic area direction from the bus station in Mile City, and specific bus routes and stops can be consulted at the local bus station.
