
Chengdu Polar Ocean Park is located at No. 2039, South Section of Tianfu Avenue, Huayang Street, Tianfu New Area, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Covering an area of 240,000 square meters, it is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. The park features the display of polar animals, popular science education, and marine animal performances as its core highlights. It has 14 major polar marine animal venues, 7 major marine circus performance venues, and more than 30 land-based amusement facilities. It is a comprehensive marine-themed park integrating tourism, leisure, science popularization, and entertainment.
History and Culture
Chengdu Polar Ocean Park was invested and constructed by Haichang Ocean Park Holdings Co., Ltd. and officially opened in July 2010. As the first polar ocean-themed park in southwest China, it has filled the gap in the display and popularization of polar ocean culture in Sichuan and even southwest China, becoming a window of marine culture for Chengdu to the whole country. Adhering to the concept of "getting close to nature and protecting ecology", the park has been committed to marine biological protection and popular science education for many years. It has received more than 10 million visitors and has successively won honors such as "National Marine Science Popularization Education Base" and "Sichuan Provincial Science Popularization Education Base", becoming an important place for teenagers to learn marine knowledge.
Main Attractions
Polar Animal Hall
It includes the Penguin House, Polar Bear House, Beluga Whale House, etc., where polar animals such as emperor penguins, Papuan penguins, polar bears and beluga whales live. Among them, the Penguin House has the largest penguin population in southwest China, and in the Beluga Whale House, you can watch performances like beluga whales blowing circles and water ballet.





Marine Animal Performance Venue
It can accommodate 3,000 audiences. Every day, classic marine animal performances such as dolphin jumping, sea lion balancing balls, and walrus acting cute are staged. Each performance lasts about 30 minutes, which is a must-see project for parent-child trips.



Underwater Tunnel
It is 80 meters long and built with acrylic glass. Visitors can watch marine creatures such as sharks and rays swim over their heads in all directions, enjoying an immersive underwater experience.


Jellyfish Hall
It displays more than 10 kinds of jellyfish such as moon jellyfish and Pacific sea nettle jellyfish. The hall is equipped with dreamy lighting effects, creating a fantastic underwater atmosphere, and it is a popular spot for taking photos.


Cute Pet Planet
It includes interactive areas for terrestrial cute pets such as alpacas, mini fragrant pigs, and Call ducks. Visitors can feed them, take photos with them at close range, and experience the joy of parent-child interaction.

Tour Suggestions
- Check the performance schedule of the day in advance through the official WeChat public account, arrange the itinerary reasonably, and it is recommended to watch the first performance at 10:30 first.
- The ultraviolet rays in the park are strong in summer, so it is recommended to bring sunscreen and sun hats. In winter, you can prepare warm coats, as there is a large temperature difference between inside and outside the venues.
- Parent-child tourists can rent baby carriages in the park (a deposit of 200 yuan, a rental fee of 30 yuan per day) or bring baby strollers. Some venues have barrier-free access.
- It is recommended to experience the 4D Cinema in the park (additional charge of about 30 yuan per person) to watch marine-themed special effects films and enhance the tour experience.
Matters Needing Attention
- It is forbidden to bring inflammable and explosive items, pets, and self-prepared food and drinks into the park (except baby food).

- Subway: Take Chengdu Metro Line 18 to Haichang Road Station, get out from Exit E, and walk about 800 meters to reach the park.
- Bus: Take buses such as T1, T7, and 501 to Polar Ocean World Station, and walk about 200 meters to arrive.
- Self-driving: Navigate to "Chengdu Haichang Polar Ocean Park". The parking fee of the park is 10 yuan per hour, with a maximum of 50 yuan per day.
- Taxi: It takes about 30-40 minutes to take a taxi from downtown Chengdu to the park, with a cost of about 50-70 yuan.
Opening Hours
The park is open all year round. The daily opening hours are 9:30-17:30 (admission stops at 16:30); during summer vacation and legal holidays, the opening hours are 9:00-18:00 (admission stops at 17:00). The marine animal performance times are 10:30, 13:00, and 15:30, and the specific times are subject to the park's announcement on the day.
