Teda Aircraft Carrier Theme Park is located in Bagua Beach, Hangu, Binhai New Area, Tianjin. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction and the only large-scale military-themed park in China and even Asia with an aircraft carrier as its main body. History and Culture
The "Kiev" aircraft carrier has a profound historical heritage. It started construction at the Nikolayev Shipyard in the Black Sea, Ukraine in 1970, was completed and put into service in 1975, and was affiliated to the Soviet Navy. It once served as the flagship of the Soviet Pacific Fleet, shouldering important strategic missions during the Cold War and witnessing the glorious history of the Soviet Navy. After the disintegration of the Soviet Union in 1991, the "Kiev" aircraft carrier was taken over by the Russian Navy, but due to economic reasons, it was officially decommissioned in 1993. In 2000, a Chinese company purchased the "Kiev" from Russia. After a arduous journey of 102 days and 16,850 nautical miles by tugboat, it was towed from the Murmansk military port to Tianjin Port.
