Sea Buckthorn Forest Wetland Tourist Scenic Area is located at the northern foot of Heishan in Bashiakema Village, Aotebeixi Township, Wushi County, Aksu Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, 27 kilometers away from Wushi County. Covering an area of 1,400 mu, the scenic area was rated as a National Wetland Park in 2013, making it China's first theme wetland park named after sea buckthorn. In 2015, it successfully became a national 4A-level tourist attraction. Relying on the education exhibition area and comprehensive service area of the "Tuoshigan River National Wetland Park", the scenic area includes landscape resources such as primitive sea buckthorn forests, Tuoshigan River, Gobi beaches, mountains, and pastoral villages, and is a near-natural river wetland park tourist attraction with regional characteristics in Northwest China. The tourist sightseeing road in the scenic area is about 5 kilometers long, including 3 kilometers of wooden boardwalks.
Historical Culture
The Sea Buckthorn Forest Wetland Park has witnessed the prosperity and decline of the ancient Silk Road, as well as the awe and protection of the people of Wushi County for nature. Wushi County is uniquely endowed with sea buckthorn resources, with abundant wild sea buckthorn resources, and is known as the "Hometown of Sea Buckthorn in China". Sea buckthorn, a drought-resistant and sand-resistant deciduous shrub, not only covers this land with greenery but also has become a precious treasure for local people with its rich nutritional and medicinal values.
