Its main buildings include the Victory Square, the Main Exhibition Hall, the Multi-dimensional Demonstration Hall, and the Military Prowess Garden, with a total construction area of 14,000 square meters. The overall architectural style is solemn and respectful, combining a sense of historical thickness with a modern atmosphere, making it an important base for inheriting red culture and carrying out patriotic education.

Historical Culture

The Pingjin Campaign was one of the three decisive campaigns during the Liberation War. It took place from November 29, 1948, to January 31, 1949, and was jointly launched by the Northeast Field Army and the North China Military Region troops of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. This campaign lasted 64 days, resulting in the elimination and reorganization of over 520,000 Kuomintang troops, and liberated large areas in North China such as Beiping (now Beijing), Tianjin, and Zhangjiakou, laying a solid foundation for the founding of New China.

The victory of the Pingjin Campaign was the result of the heroic struggle of the people's army led by the Communist Party of China, and it was also inseparable from the strong support of the broad masses of the people. During the campaign, the People's Liberation Army adopted flexible tactics such as "besieging without attacking" and "isolating without besieging", and finally achieved the peaceful liberation of Beiping, protecting this famous historical and cultural city. The Pingjin Campaign Memorial Hall was built to commemorate this great campaign and officially opened to the public on July 23, 1997. The hall houses a large number of cultural relics and historical materials related to the campaign, such as weapons and equipment, letters and diaries, and photos, totaling about 10,000 items, which truly record the historical process and heroic deeds of the campaign.

Main Attractions

Victory Square

Victory Square is located at the entrance of the memorial hall, covering an area of about 12,000 square meters. In the center of the square stands a 19.49-meter-high Victory Monument, symbolizing the victory of the Pingjin Campaign in 1949. The base of the monument is engraved with a brief introduction to the Pingjin Campaign and a battle map. The top of the monument is a group statue of PLA soldiers, showing the heroic spirit after victory. On both sides of the square, there are many artillery pieces used in the campaign, allowing visitors to intuitively feel the atmosphere of the war.

Main Exhibition Hall

The Main Exhibition Hall is the core part of the memorial hall, with a construction area of 8,000 square meters. It is divided into 6 exhibition halls: the Preface Hall, the Campaign Decision-making Hall, the Campaign Implementation Hall, the People's Support Hall, the Great Victory Hall, and the Martyrs' Achievements Hall. In the Preface Hall, the large-scale sculpture "Marching towards Victory" shows the scene of leaders such as Mao Zedong and Zhou Enlai making strategies. Through various forms such as objects, pictures, texts, and multimedia, each exhibition hall systematically displays the background, process, results, and historical significance of the Pingjin Campaign. Among them, the collected autographed telegrams of leaders such as Lin Biao and Luo Ronghuan, as well as the captured weapons of the Kuomintang army, have extremely high historical value.

Multi-dimensional Demonstration Hall

The Multi-dimensional Demonstration Hall is the first panoramic battlefield demonstration venue in China, with a construction area of 1,200 square meters. The hall uses 360-degree circular screen movies, ground projections, lighting effects and other technologies to vividly reproduce the fierce battle scene of "capturing Tianjin" in the Pingjin Campaign. The demonstration lasts about 20 minutes, and visitors feel as if they are in a battlefield full of bullets and shells, which is very shocking and allows people to more intuitively feel the bravery of the PLA soldiers.

Military Prowess Garden

The Military Prowess Garden is located on the west side of the memorial hall, covering an area of about 10,000 square meters, and is an open-air exhibition area for displaying military equipment. The garden displays various decommissioned weapons and equipment such as J-5 fighter jets, T-34 tanks, howitzers, and anti-aircraft guns. These equipment were the main equipment in the early days of the founding of New China, and some played an important role in wars such as the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. Visitors can observe these "steel giants" up close and learn about their performance and history.

Martyrs' Achievements Hall

The Martyrs' Achievements Hall specially displays the deeds of revolutionary martyrs who sacrificed in the Pingjin Campaign. The hall displays portraits and introductions of 32 famous martyrs. At the same time, there is a wall of martyrs' names, engraved with the names of more than 6,000 martyrs who sacrificed in the Pingjin Campaign, for future generations to cherish the memory of them.
