Lianbao Yeze Scenic Area is located in Aba County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, at the junction of Sichuan, Gansu and Qinghai provinces. It is a branch of the southern section of Bayan Har Mountain and a national 4A-level tourist attraction. The total area of the scenic area is about 800 square kilometers, and the area in Aba County is about 500 square kilometers. Featuring unique peaks and rocks, glacier relics, and snow-capped mountains and lakes, it is a provincial-level ecological tourism demonstration zone. The highest altitude in the area is 5,141 meters, and the average altitude of the peaks is over 4,000 meters. The scenic area gathers major monasteries of the five major sects of Tibetan Buddhism and has primitive and simple ancient Ando Tibetan village buildings.
History and Culture
Lianbao Yeze is the ancient battlefield where King Gesar fought. "Lianbao Yeze" means "the Peak of Dignified Jade" in Chinese and is regarded as a sacred mountain in Tibetan areas. A large number of glacier relics remain here, witnessing the glacial activities in the earth's history and having high scientific research value. In addition, Gemo Monastery in the scenic area is one of the representatives of Gelug Sect monasteries, with two Guinness World Records. It is one of the largest connected Buddhist hall buildings in China and houses the relics of Sakyamuni inside.

Zhagar Tso
Zhagar Tso is at an altitude of 4,600 meters and is one of the highest lakes in Aba County. The lake water is clear and green, surrounded by mountains, and the peaks are reflected in the lake, which is extremely beautiful. The peaks are majestic and attractive, with unique peaks, valleys, mountain streams, and many strange rocks along the way, changing richly and integrating softness, firmness, grandeur, and beauty.
Longga Tso Lham
Longga Tso Lham Lake is at an altitude of 3,995 meters, covering an area of about 1.5 square kilometers. It is the largest lake in the Lianbao Yeze Scenic Area of Aba County. The lake water is clear, reflecting the sky and majestic granite. Fish swim in the lake, waterbirds fly on the lake, and the lake shore is broad and gentle.
Luoyun Tso
Luoyun Tso is a beautiful alpine freshwater lake at an altitude of 4,150 meters, covering an area of about 0.5 square kilometers. The lake water is quiet and deep like a huge mirror. Fish shuttle in the lake, waterfalls fly on the lake shore, and the Ox-Heart Stone is beautiful and round.
Huangya Beach
Huangya Beach has a blue ice lake and a water highway beside it, which is a producing area of S-curve highway photos.
4520 Viewing Platform
The 4520 Viewing Platform overlooks the entire Zhagar Tso. Standing on the platform, you can feel the charm of nature and the mystery of the East.

Yak Beef
Local yak beef is tender and nutritious, with various cooking methods such as braising, stewing, and roasting. It is delicious and a must-try food.
Tibetan Butter Tea
Made from butter, tea, salt, and other raw materials, it has a rich taste, helps visitors resist the alpine cold, and replenishes body energy.
Highland Barley Cake
Baked from highland barley flour, it has a crispy taste and the unique fragrance of highland barley, being one of the local characteristic staple foods.

Tour Route
You can first visit the viewing platform, then drive down the mountain to Zhagar Tso, and finally slowly visit natural landscapes such as Baixiang Sea, Penjing Beach, Luoxia Lake, and Caodian Flower Sea on the way down. You can also refer to the following route: Seda (Wuming Buddhist College) - Rangtang (Wild Man Valley) - Aba County (Lianbao Yeze Stone Mountain Scenic Area) - Maerma Town - Jialuo Town - Tangke (First Bend of the Yellow River) - Ruoergai (Langmu Temple).
Transportation
- Self-driving: Chengdu - Dujiangyan - Wenchuan - Miayaro - Zhegu Mountain Tunnel - Hongyuan Anqu - Aba County - A'gen - Andou Township - Lianbao Yeze Stone Mountain Scenic Area.
- By bus: Take a bus from Chengdu Chadianzi Bus Station to Aba County (departure time at 06:40/07:50 every day), and then charter a car to the scenic area after arriving in Aba County.
Must-visit Attractions
- Zhagar Tso: One of the highest lakes in Aba County, at an altitude of 4,600 meters. The lake water is crystal clear, and you can punch in blue ice in winter. The cliffs behind are like walls cut with a knife and axe.
- Longga Tso Lham: The largest lake in the Lianbao Yeze Scenic Area of Aba County, at an altitude of 3,995 meters, covering an area of about 1.5 square kilometers. There are legendary Zaisheng Stools on the lake shore.
- Gemo Monastery: A representative of Gelug Sect monasteries, with two Guinness World Records. It has the largest indoor Maitreya Buddha in Asia, which is 37 meters high.
Tour Tips
- The scenic area is at a high altitude. It is recommended to prepare anti-altitude sickness drugs in advance, take a rest during the tour, and avoid strenuous exercise.
- Prepare warm clothes. Even in summer, the temperature difference between day and night in the scenic area is large.
- Carry sunscreen products, as the ultraviolet rays in alpine areas are strong.
- If time permits, arrange 2-3 days for the tour to fully enjoy the beauty of the scenic area.
