Xiamen Twin Towers is located near Xiamen University in Yanwu Area, Siming District, Xiamen City, Fujian Province. It is a national 3A-level tourist attraction and one of the core cultural and tourism landmarks of Xiamen. Centering on two super high-rise towers, the scenic area integrates sightseeing, commerce, leisure and cultural experience, with an overall design combining Minnan marine culture and modern architectural aesthetics. The twin towers consist of two main buildings, one 300 meters high with 64 floors and the other 249.7 meters high with 55 floors. The total land area is about 30,000 square meters and the total building area is about 336,000 square meters. The core sightseeing area is the 55th-floor high-altitude sightseeing hall at an altitude of 260 meters, offering a 360-degree view of Gulangyu Island, Xiamen University, Island Ring Road and Xiamen Bay. It is a representative high-altitude sightseeing destination in Xiamen.
History and Culture
Developed by Shimao Group, the Xiamen Twin Towers were designed by Atkins from the United Kingdom. Inspired by the city flower flame tree of Xiamen and Minnan sailing culture, the twin towers symbolize soaring wings. The project was officially launched in 2011, with the main structure starting construction in 2013 and overall completion and operation in 2015. The high-altitude sightseeing service officially opened to the public in 2016, quickly becoming a new city landmark of Xiamen.
As a landmark modern project of Xiamen Special Economic Zone, the Twin Towers carry the urban significance as an important node of the Maritime Silk Road and serve as a carrier for urban internationalization and cultural-tourism integration. Inheriting the profound marine culture of Minnan and showing the innovative vitality of a modern city, the complex acts as an important window to display Xiamen's urban image and attract tourists at home and abroad, as well as a representative project for the high-quality development of Xiamen's cultural and tourism industry.
Main Attractions
Cloud Top Xiamen Sightseeing Hall
Located on the 55th floor with an altitude of 260 meters, Cloud Top Xiamen Sightseeing Hall covers an area of about 1,300 square meters and is the highest indoor and outdoor integrated sightseeing platform in Xiamen. Equipped with full transparent viewing glass, high-definition telescopes and cultural and creative exhibition areas, it provides a panoramic view of Xiamen Island, Gulangyu Island, Kinmen Islands and Zhangzhou Port, serving as the core sightseeing spot of the scenic area.
Sky Walk
Sky Walk, the first outdoor high-altitude experience project in Fujian Province, is situated outside the 55th-floor sightseeing hall. With a total length of 30 meters and a width of 1.2 meters, the fully transparent guardrail-free walkway operates under professional security and safety equipment protection. Visitors can experience the 300-meter high-altitude hanging view, which is a landmark immersive project of the Twin Towers.
Shimao Emall Commercial Center
Located in the podium building of the Twin Towers, Shimao Emall covers a business area of about 70,000 square meters. It is a comprehensive commercial complex integrating shopping, catering, entertainment, cultural creation and parent-child activities. With Minnan specialty cuisines, international brands, cinemas and cultural and creative stores, it provides one-stop leisure and consumption services for tourists.
Twin Towers Night Light Show
The exterior wall of the Twin Towers is fitted with a large-scale LED lighting system that plays themed light shows every night. Each show lasts about 5 to 10 minutes, integrating marine culture, Minnan elements and festival themes. Exclusive themed contents will be launched on holidays, making it a classic night landmark of Xiamen.
Twin Towers Square
Twin Towers Square is located at the bottom of the towers. With a wide view, it is an open leisure space where visitors can take full photos of the Twin Towers. It is also the main entrance leading to the sightseeing hall and shopping mall.

Travel Suggestions
- The total visiting time is recommended to be 1.5 to 2 hours, with around 1 hour for the core high-altitude sightseeing area
- It is recommended to visit on sunny days for a clear panoramic view
- Enter the park from 17:00 to 19:00 to enjoy daytime, sunset and night views in one trip
- Reservation in advance is required for Sky Walk, please wear comfortable non-slip shoes
- Book tickets online in advance on holidays to avoid the peak hours from 10:00 to 15:00
- Rest areas and tea bars are available in the sightseeing hall for temporary rest
- Combine with Xiamen University, Gulangyu Island and Island Ring Road to plan a half-day or one-day tour
Notes
- Flammable, explosive items and controlled appliances are prohibited in the scenic area
- Running, climbing and fighting are not allowed in high-altitude areas, please follow staff instructions
- Pets are not allowed except guide dogs
- Do not knock or carve on glass facilities, and smoking is forbidden indoors
- Children under 1.2 meters and seniors over 70 years old must be accompanied by adults
- People with hypertension, heart disease, acrophobia and pregnant women are not allowed to experience Sky Walk
- Drone flying without permission is prohibited within the scenic area
- Ticket checking stops at 20:30, please arrange your visit reasonably
Transportation
- Bus: Take buses to Xiada Hospital Station or Shimao Twin Towers Station, including routes 2, 22, 29, 47, 87, 92, 96, 122, 135, 310 and B3
- Metro: Take Metro Line 1 to Zhenhai Road Station or Metro Line 3 to Xiamen Railway Station, then transfer to buses
- Taxi and Online Car-hailing: Navigate to Shimao Strait Building with dedicated pick-up and drop-off areas
- Self-driving: Underground parking lot is available, public transportation is recommended
- Walking: A 10-minute walk from Xiamen University Siming Campus and a 20-minute walk from Ferry Terminal
Opening Hours
The scenic area opens from 09:00 to 21:00 every day, with ticket checking closed at 20:30. Sky Walk is open from 09:00 to 20:00 and Shimao Emall operates from 10:00 to 22:00. It remains open during legal holidays. Temporary adjustments may be made for equipment maintenance or special activities, subject to on-site announcements.
