Xiamen Science and Technology Museum is located at No. 95 Tiyu Road, Siming District, Xiamen City, Fujian Province, within the City Culture and Art Center. It is a national 4A-level scenic spot and one of the leading science popularization venues in China, as well as the largest science education base in Fujian Province. With the core features of "fun science and innovative experience", the museum integrates science exhibitions, interactive experiences, educational research and science shows. It focuses on immersive participatory and entertaining science experiences, serving as a comprehensive venue for parent-child learning, science popularization and leisure travel. The total land area of the museum is about 21,000 square meters, with a total building area of about 25,000 square meters and an exhibition area of 12,000 square meters. It consists of five themed exhibition halls, four special-effect cinemas and numerous large interactive exhibits. Featuring modern architectural style and strong technological atmosphere, it is a landmark science popularization venue in Xiamen.

Historical Culture

Officially opened in March 2007, Xiamen Science and Technology Museum is a key cultural and public welfare project invested and built by Xiamen Municipal Government. Based on Xiamen's positioning as a technological innovation city, the museum takes popularizing scientific knowledge and promoting scientific spirit as its core mission, and has rapidly developed into a core science popularization base in Fujian Province since its opening.

In 2010, it was awarded the title of national 4A-level tourist attraction, becoming one of the few science and technology museums in China with national scenic spot qualification. In 2013, it was listed as a national science popularization education base. With continuous upgrading of exhibition items and optimization of visiting experience, the museum has received more than 20 million visitors over the years, among which young people account for over 70%. It has become the most popular parent-child science popularization destination in Xiamen and southern Fujian region.

Xiamen Science and Technology Museum undertakes the important tasks of popularizing scientific knowledge, spreading urban scientific and cultural concepts and enlightening young people's scientific thinking. Ocean Hall

The Ocean Hall is a distinctive themed exhibition hall of Xiamen Science and Technology Museum, covering an area of about 2,500 square meters. Focusing on marine science and marine ecology, it includes ocean exploration, marine energy, marine navigation and ecological protection sections, with more than 70 large interactive exhibits. Through simulated scenes, interactive facilities and multimedia demonstrations, the hall displays marine mysteries, deep sea exploration and marine resource utilization. Popular exhibits such as simulated submarine, wave power generation and typhoon experience attract a large number of visitors.

Exploration and Discovery Hall

The Exploration and Discovery Hall focuses on basic scientific principles, covering an area of about 2,200 square meters. It involves mechanics, acoustics, optics, mathematics and electromagnetism, equipped with more than 80 interactive exhibits. Various interesting experimental facilities enable visitors to intuitively understand physical laws and natural phenomena. Classic exhibits such as aerial pipe organ, gravity device, light maze and electrostatic sphere bring interesting scientific experiences for visitors of all ages.

Creation and Civilization Hall

The Creation and Civilization Hall focuses on the development of human science and technological innovation, with an area of about 2,000 square meters. It is divided into three sections including ancient technology, industrial civilization and modern intelligent manufacturing, with more than 60 exhibition items. The hall demonstrates the evolution of science and technology from ancient times to modern society, including movable type printing, robot interaction, 3D printing and mechanical arm displays, enabling visitors to understand the influence of technological progress on human civilization.

Harmonious Development Hall

The Harmonious Development Hall centers on life science, human health and sustainable development, covering an area of about 1,800 square meters with more than 50 interactive exhibits. Through interactive models, virtual experience and data visualization, it explains human structure, life principles, health maintenance and ecological protection. Featured exhibitions such as human body exploration and ecological circulation combine scientific knowledge with educational value.

Children's Science Paradise

Designed exclusively for children aged 3 to 8, the Children's Science Paradise covers an area of about 1,500 square meters and is a special interactive science experience area for young kids with more than 40 amusement-style exhibits. It focuses on interesting science enlightenment, including water exploration, building experience, climbing areas and sensory games, helping children cultivate scientific interest and practical abilities in entertainment.

Special Effect Cinema

Xiamen Science and Technology Museum has four special-effect cinemas, including 4D cinema, dome cinema, flying cinema and fantasy theater, with a total of over 300 seats. It plays popular science films with immersive visual effects, dynamic seats and environmental effects. Most films last 8 to 15 minutes, covering astronomy, nature, space and adventure themes.

Opening Hours

The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday and closed on Mondays except for public holidays. The regular opening hours are 9:00 to 17:00, and admission stops at 16:30. During public holidays, the opening hours are extended to 9:00 to 17:30, with admission stopping at 17:00. The screening time of special-effect cinemas is subject to on-site notices, with shows usually available every 30 to 60 minutes.
