Silk Road International Resort (Silk Road Mountain Resort) is located in Pingxiliang Village, Shuixigou Town, Urumqi County, Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is a national 4A-level scenic area. The resort covers an area of 12 square kilometers, about 40 kilometers away from Urumqi urban area, with convenient transportation. It integrates multiple functions such as alpine skiing, hot spring health preservation, and conference vacations, and has unique natural landscapes and rich tourism resources. It is a famous tourist resort in Xinjiang where you can ski in winter and escape the heat in summer.
History and Culture
The Shuixigou Town where the Silk Road International Resort is located has a long history. It was once an important passage of the ancient Silk Road, witnessing the exchange and integration of Eastern and Western cultures. With the development of tourism, the resort started construction in 2003. After years of development, it has become a bright business card of Xinjiang's tourism industry.
It was officially renamed Silk Road Mountain Resort on November 16, 2023.
