Shenzhen Happy Valley is located in Overseas Chinese Town, Nanshan District, Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province. It is a national 5A‑level tourist attraction. Developed by Overseas Chinese Town Group, this large‑scale theme park covers an area of 350,000 square meters and officially opened in 1998. Integrating participation, appreciation, entertainment and fun, the park consists of multiple themed zones with dozens of amusement facilities, themed performances and landscape scenes.
History and Culture
Invested and constructed by Overseas Chinese Town Group, Shenzhen Happy Valley officially opened to the public on October 1, 1998. It is one of the landmark large‑scale modern theme parks in China. At the early stage of opening, many imported amusement devices were introduced, breaking the domestic theme‑park model dominated by static sightseeing landscapes at that time.
The park has undergone multiple rounds of renovation and upgrading over the years, continuously enriching themed scenes and amusement projects. It has become a well‑known leisure and amusement destination in South China and receives large numbers of domestic and foreign tourists every year.

Spanish Square
Spanish Square is the entrance area of Shenzhen Happy Valley, built in Spanish‑style architecture. Equipped with theme sculptures, European‑style colonnades, tourist service centers, shops and security‑check entrances, it is where most visitors start their sightseeing tour. It also serves as one of the main venues for various festival activities inside the park.
Magic Castle
Magic Castle is a family‑oriented themed zone. It contains many mild amusement projects suitable for children. Buildings here feature bright and rich colors with abundant castle‑style landscapes. Regular interactive children‑oriented performances are staged in this zone.
Mayan Water Park
Mayan Water Park is a seasonal water‑play themed zone designed with ancient Mayan‑civilization elements. It features various water slides and water‑recreation facilities. This zone mainly operates in summer and hosts water‑themed performances during its opening period, and it will be closed in winter.
Gold Mine Town
Gold Mine Town adopts the 19th‑century western gold‑rush town as its design background. Its landmark project is the Mine Coaster. Scenes such as mine tunnels and wooden mining cabins are reproduced. The zone is fitted with themed shops and scheduled situational performances.
Shangri‑La·Snowland
Shangri‑La·Snowland takes plateau snow‑mountain customs as its theme style. It gathers many high‑thrill core amusement facilities including Snow Eagle Coaster. This area is the priority destination for visitors chasing thrilling experiences, with snow‑mountain‑style building landscapes all around.
Happy Times
Happy Times is the core zone for night‑time experiences. Classic amusement facilities such as Ferris Wheel, Discoverer and UFO are located here. The zone is decorated with abundant night‑view lighting. It is the main passage for float parades and night‑time themed shows, and its facilities are accessible for both day‑session and night‑session visitors.

- Amusement projects impose restrictions on height, weight and health conditions. People suffering from hypertension, heart disease and pregnant women are not advised to take thrilling rides such as roller coasters.

- Professional selfie sticks, large luggage, food and canned beverages are not allowed inside the park. A small amount of drinking water is permitted.

- Self‑driving: Navigate to Shenzhen Happy Valley Parking Lot. Paid parking spaces are available. Parking spaces are limited on holidays, so public transport is recommended.
Opening Hours
Shenzhen Happy Valley has separate opening hours for day session and night session. Regular day‑session hours are generally 9:30‑21:30, while night‑session admission usually starts at 17:00. Opening hours will be adjusted during holidays and summer vacation. Mayan Water Park generally opens from 11:00 to 21:00 in summer and suspends operation in winter.
