Zhang Fei Temple is located in Longbao Village, Panshi Town, Yunyang County, Chongqing Municipality, and it is a national 4A-level scenic area. Covering an area of approximately 10 hectares, the buildings in the scenic area feature strong Three Kingdoms cultural characteristics and traditional Bayu architectural styles. The buildings inside the temple have overhanging eaves and upturned corners, with a rigorous layout. Built to commemorate Zhang Fei, a famous general of the Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period, Zhang Fei Temple preserves a large number of historical relics and stone inscriptions. It is a tourist resort integrating history, culture, and architectural art, demonstrating rich historical and cultural connotations and unique architectural art value.

Historical Culture

Zhang Fei, courtesy name Yide, was a famous general of the Shu Han during the Three Kingdoms period, known for his bravery and loyalty. Zhang Fei Temple was first built in the late Shu Han period, with a history of more than 1,700 years. After renovations and expansions in the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties, it gradually formed its current scale. Historically, Zhang Fei Temple has always been an important place for people to commemorate Zhang Fei, and many literati and poets have left precious stone inscriptions and inscriptions here. During the construction of the Three Gorges Project, Zhang Fei Temple was relocated as a whole in accordance with the principle of "original objects, original location, original appearance", preserving its historical style and cultural value to the greatest extent.

Tour Route

After entering the scenic area, tourists can first visit Jieyi Building to learn about the story of the Peach Garden Oath by Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei. Then go to the Main Hall to pay respects to the statue of Zhang Fei and feel his majesty. Next, visit the Stone Inscription Forest to appreciate the precious stone inscriptions and calligraphy works. During the tour, tourists can taste local delicacies such as Yunyang Bao Mian (Yunyang Wonton Noodles), Yangza Mian (Sheep Offal Noodles), and Gege (Steamed Pork Dumplings) around the scenic area. After the tour, leave from the exit of the scenic area.
