History and Culture
The mylonite stone forest in the Moshi Park Scenic Area was discovered in 1981, and further research in 1994 revealed it was formed through weathering. Locally known as the "Bamei Soil Stone Forest," it has various professional names such as "structural stone forest," "metamorphic stone forest," and "mylonite stone forest." Legend has it that Moshi Park was once one of the birthplaces of King Gesar, and many attractions in the park are related to legends of King Gesar's battles. For example, the "Ten Thousand Swords Piercing the Sky" stone forest replicates the scene of King Gesar's soldiers holding swords and vowing to protect him.
