The Yangtze River Cableway is located in Chongqing, China, running between Xinhua Road in Yuzhong District and Shangxin Street in Nan'an District. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. As the first large-scale cross-river passenger cableway on the Yangtze River designed and manufactured by China itself, it enjoys the reputation of "the first aerial corridor on the Yangtze River" and "urban aerial bus". The scenic area consists of three parts: the Yuzhong Urban History and Culture Zone, the Yangtze River Aerial Sightseeing Zone, and the Nan'an Film and Television Culture Zone, with a total area of 9.8 square kilometers. The cableway is 1,166 meters long, with a total operation time of about 5 minutes. The passenger cabin has a capacity of 65+1 people and is equipped with anti-sway devices resistant to 5-6 level winds, featuring safety, environmental protection, speed, convenience, punctuality, and all-weather operation.

Historical Culture

The Yangtze River Cableway started construction on March 20, 1986, and was completed and put into operation on October 24, 1987. It is the first aerial corridor on the Yangtze River and has been operating safely for more than 30 years. It is not only an important means of transportation for Chongqing citizens to cross the river but also a symbol of the city's history and culture, witnessing Chongqing's development and changes and carrying the memory of Bayu culture. Many film and television works have been filmed here, making it one of Chongqing's cultural symbols.

Main Attractions

Cross-River Scenic Belt

When taking the Yangtze River Cableway, the cross-river landscape belt formed along the way is the core attraction. During a one-way trip, you can successively enjoy the skyscraper clusters in the Jiefangbei business district of Yuzhong District, the magnificent view of the confluence of the Yangtze River and the Jialing River, the traditional buildings of Danzishi Old Street, the modern design of Chongqing Grand Theatre, and the orange-red structure of Chaotianmen Bridge, among other sights. Especially in the evening, as the setting sun casts its glow on the river surface and the lights of buildings on both banks gradually come on, the mountains, rivers, bridges and structures seen from the cabin form a three-dimensional urban panorama, earning it the reputation of a "mobile viewing platform".
