
Yulongwan Desert Paradise is located in Duolu Town, Luopu County, Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. The scenic area covers a planned area of 17.14 square kilometers. Its core area is Burkumu Lake, with large wetlands in the west, sand dunes and lakes interspersed in the middle, and a large area of sand dunes in the east. It is the intersection of oasis and desert, possessing rare tourism resources of the "desert-water-oasis-ethnic culture" combination in China, integrating desert sightseeing, cultural experience, sci-fi science popularization, and leisure vacation. The scenic area offers entertainment projects such as sand sliding, desert motorcycles, camel riding, horseback riding, yo-yo balls, bumper balls, rainbow slides, and desert swings.
History and Culture
The history of Yulongwan Scenic Area can be traced back to the Neolithic Age thousands of years ago. With the development of the Silk Road, transportation and trade here were greatly facilitated. On December 31, 2014, the scenic area was approved as a National Desert Park (pilot) by the State Forestry Administration. In 2018, the scenic area began to transform into a desert paradise, introducing the desert section of the Around the Tower Rally and supporting the construction of professional-level tracks. In 2022, taking advantage of the opportunity of the main venue of the "China Tourism Day", it launched the "Sand Curtain Theater", bringing the epic of the ancient Kingdom of Yutian in Records of the Western Regions of the Great Tang to the sand dune stage. In 2025, it was officially listed as a national 4A-level tourist attraction.
Main Attractions
Burkumu Lake
The core lake of the scenic area, with a maximum water area of 1,650 mu and a minimum of 480 mu. There are 15 fish ponds of different sizes around the lake, surrounded by reeds, and a dense Populus euphratica forest surrounds the northwest side.
Desert Amusement Area
It has entertainment projects such as extreme sand sliding, desert off-roading, horseback riding and camel riding, desert bumper balls, rainbow slides, and internet-famous swings, allowing visitors to experience the excitement and joy brought by the desert.
Cultural Experience Area
Cultural activities such as intangible heritage exhibitions and desert events are held here, where visitors can feel the profound historical and cultural heritage of Xinjiang.

Baked Buns
A local special food, with mutton, onions, etc., as fillings, the outer skin is crispy, and the inner filling is fresh and fragrant.
Hotan Grilled Lamb Skewers
Using fresh lamb, grilled until the outer skin is golden, the meat is tender and juicy, sprinkled with cumin, chili powder and other seasonings, the taste is very delicious.
